huemaker animation

A logo reveal, built with a combination of After Effects, Blender, felt, cats, and a love of makin’.

I wanted this logo reveal to act as a bit of an animation reel as well, so we follow the Huemaker dot through different mediums.

A bouncy After Effects animation gives way to a clay 3D version of the logo, made in Blender.

Some nice fuzzy felt letters bounce around stop-motion style, with an interruption from my adorable intern Pinecone. Although not originally planned, this happy accident made way for a fun transition.

We venture through a dark forest into a clearing where a handsome exploring Pistachio reps a Huemaker flag in his boy scout fit. Pistachio was my cat who I frequently doodle in my sketchbook, and who bit my pens while I drew. My great friend and muse, now forever immortalized as my creative mascot.

Let’s make.

 DSP brand reveal

An animation made to reveal Downtown Spokane Partnership’s new brand. This was a fun project where I got to utilize DSP’s video footage and make their new linework dance through our beautiful city.

struggling stepdad reveal animation

A fun reveal animation for Struggling Stepdad Design, made for sharing on social media. This was a fun project where I got to bring Steve Dobb’s creative visions to life with some animation and a fun song.

lower thirds

Some animations showing different options for lower third animations. These could be used in a video when interviewing a subject to display their name and job title.

Below are some examples of how these might be used in a video:

shorts

Channel Surfin’, a short made for the 2021 Spokane Comedy Film Festival. Made in Blender with the Grease Pencil tool.

Shacked Up. A short made in Blender with the Grease Pencil tool.

 cowboy animations

A small series of Cowboy animations, made for fun with Illustrator and After Effects. The goal of these was to create simple, fun, bouncy animations that help describe a bit of the cowboy’s character.

 flex animation

An animation made for fun, this started as a sketch in a sketchbook and was put to motion in After Effects.

greedy dungeon game jam

Greedy Dungeon started as a game two friends and I made in 72 hours, as part of Ludum Dare 40. I created the characters, weapons, animations, and level textures, as well as the sound FX and music for the game. Jeff Daul did the dev work and brought the actual game to life. Joel Morrison created level assets, props, and some animation.

It placed 168th out of 1,040 compo submissions.
